[CLOSED] Christmas Brunch at Sala Kitchen

So, how was everyone Christmas day?
Mine was a one fine day. Why? As I got to spend a whole day with my husband. *wink* It might sound so simple, but personally for me it was beyond that. Being married to someone as workaholic as mine, having a whole day with him is something rare. We go out a lot, but 90% of it was during dinner time. So, I was super excited on arranging where we should have our Christmas' breakfast, lunch and dinner yesterday. *happy face*
G
I have been wanting to go to Sala Kitchen for quite some time, and yesterday's timing was perfect, having hubby as my date, no traffic and they happen to have Christmas brunch menu for the day. Positioned in the main street of Kemang not far from KOI, Sala Kitchen took a small building with beautiful vintage look. I was awing the white and lime green rustic look the moment I step down from the car. The vintage door and flowers hanging around the windows solidify the whole European chic, in line with their cuisine type.

Dapur Buntut PIK

Around last week, hubby and I went to PIK on weekdays around 8pm and the rapidly growth food districts were fully packed with line of cars. So packed that we got a little traffic moment and the hassle having to double u-turn just to find a parking spot. My husband is a total grumpy when it comes to dealing with heavy crowds and traffic jam. Fortunately that night, his reluctance led us to find, in my opinion, the best oxtail soup in Jakarta.

[CLOSED] Le Jardin Moovina

It has been almost two months since my first try out at Mezzanine. Incase you don't know yet, Moovina is a newly established French Vietnam cuisine under the same management with Ocha & Bella. What's exciting about Moovina is there are two cafes under the same restaurant connected with an inside staircase where each of them shares different types of cuisine and design concept.

Commune 25

Right at the moment when I was in need of a good meal and great company, there they were... Duo combination of Commune and my girls. Last Saturday without doubt was one of my best lunch date in the past few months, 4 hours spoiled with great friends, good laughs and scrumptious food. One of the girls recently was blessed on being a new young mom of a healthy handsome baby boy, Sebastian. So, couple days after Baby S's one month old, we gathered for a not so quick catch up at Commune.

Dakasi: Bright shiny stars from Taiwan

Tuesday night...
During Keeping up with the Kardashians...
Beep beep
Got a bb message from a friend of mine,
"Hey why your recent posts lately cover those places at PIK only? Don't you go anywhere further than that place?"

I smirked, replied...
"You talk to your new governor, tell him to do something with that traffic on his 7k highway, then I'll start to review all kinds of new places you want".

I noticed. Guilty as charged, I have not really been myself lately. I never like the traffic in Jakarta, but it used to never stop me from hunting new cafes in town.
These couple months, just the thought of getting the car out of garage, side by side with those traffic easily convinced me to change my mind from having lunch at south to randomly sauteed whatever I can find inside the fridge.

I'm not a grumpy, I know that traffic jam is a done deal package for people living in Jakarta. I used to not really bother by it, but lately I don't know man... Is it just me who thinks the traffic just getting worse and worse?

So, for the time being... Please bare with me when my post mostly limit to cover places at PIK. ;)

PEPeNERO Cucina Italiana

One night, Hubby was craving for thin crust pizza so we decided to go to one of my favorite Italian place, Pepenero. We went to the one located at Sudirman. It was around 9pm when we reached there and the place was not really packed considering it was over dinner time.

[CLOSED] Momento

I once saw a mutual friend at Facebook celebrated her baby first birthday at Momento. Besides the beautiful chubby baby girl, the other thing attracted me from those pictures were the cafe's interior. I love those brick white walls with high ceiling and the artificial fire place. So, couple weeks ago when I met up with a friend at PIK, we chose to have our lunch there. Well, I chose... She, kindly went along. *hugs*

The Lab: Get your drinks prepared by ScienTEA

Another local bubble tea shops emerged at Pantai Indah Kapuk. It was not more than a month during my "sabbatical" weeks that I didn't step my foot at PIK, and here I was stunned of how many new cafes emerged at the same row as the famous Ikkudo.

[CLOSED] Fat Bubble PIK

I just came back from an impromptu short trip to Hong Kong. Despite I've been having so much fun there enjoying the cool weather and no traffic hassle, now it's reality check time. Clicking Ivy's Life and surprised to see the number of posts I've had lately. Only 5 posts in October, and so far also only 5 posts in this month. Boy, I have not been a good student in doing my homework.

Anyway...

Tsurukamedou

Tsurukamedou means the hall of crane and tortoise.
Ramen chef Masayuki Nomura founded Tsurukamedou and envisions the restaurant as a place to cultivate the great spirit of Tsuru and Kame. The crane flies gracefully and harmoniously to different continents in search of breeding grounds during its long migratory route. the tortoise  moves slowly but definitely and with all the life's energy and purpose.

Carnivor: The meat company

I love it when something coincidence turns to be something worth to remember.

The first time we got to know the place was around a month ago when we had a thing to do at Kemayoran and decided to drove to Sunter after to look for dinner. We passed by a huge banner on the side of the road advertising on a restaurant, Carnivor, located in Sunter Icon Food Point. Being a true carnivore, we were sold as soon as we read the words "The meat company". *grin*
The food point was located in the same area with marketing gallery of Sunter Icon, an on progress new apartment. Behind the marketing gallery building was the Sunter Icon Food Point with three restaurants side by side, Captain Seafood, Warung Tekko and Carnivor.

Get hooked with Crumble Bars by Twee

I always have this urge of trying new things when it comes to food. Either it was a new place to eat, a new type of cuisines or a new talked about food in town. My curiosity was tickled the moment I heard about this online bakery, Twee, selling a homemade crumble bars. It was not as common as red velvet, rainbow cake or macaroons, hence I was intrigued.

Seven Deadly Sins in Food

Still on the topic...

I tried to find food tag in seven deadly sins food related, but unlike the one in beauty tag, I almost didn't find any good one. It was more like the boring questions on what's your fave food, fave ice cream, fave dessert, and so on...
I figure since I really really want to have a food tag in this seven deadly sins topic, I went ahead taking what's good and be creative with the rest of the questions. So here it goes, my seven deadly sins in food!

Seven Deadly Sins in Beauty

**Alert: This is a non food post. Skip it if the only thing interest you in this world is food.**

Gosh... It feels like ages since the last time I wrote.

The feeling literally popped in the moment I type, so weird that I have to turn to the home page to see my last posting date... 16 days ago... It might not seem too long but personally for me, this is the longest time I didn't blog since Ivy's life's first entry around a year ago. It's funny as writing is sort of the thing I'm obsessed to. Something that always seemed to calm me down when I am feeling tense or simply have too much thought that I just need to let it out... in words. However, lately I haven't been doing such.

These past recent days, I have not been productive. Lately still okay but around the first 5 days of last week, I literally almost didn't do anything. I didn't step outside the house even for once, I didn't cook, I didn't open my blog, I didn't tweet, I didn't even bother to look at any recent post in twitter, IG or FB, I simply almost didn't do anything with my life except... Blog walking! And no, not in food department. I haven't even read a single post from fellow foodies on my blog list which I normally always do.

It all started from a night cream...

I have my skin care routine but I used to never really give a thought on how important a night cream is until couple weeks ago, it strikes me that I am now in my late 20s and I should start doing some serious beauty investment for the sake of my now & then skin. You know those people who said "Age is just a number"? I never buy that. I mean, try stand in front of the mirror when you are 50, let's see if you still can say that age is just a number.
Anyway, a week ago I started to do some googling on which night cream worth to invest on, and from that simple search... I found way too much informative beauty treasures from all the beauty bloggers or vloggers around. And just like that, for the entire 5 days, I was hooked.

To make it short, One of so many things that caught my attention while I was browsing through You Tube was a beauty tag of seven deadly sins in beauty. I find it too cute to not participate on blogging it, so here it is... just for fun...

SEVEN DEADLY SINS OF BEAUTY

1. GREED
Q: What is your most inexpensive beauty product?
A: My eyebrow pencil. It's a cheap Korean brand, Etude. I think it's only around IDR 35,000++. Online price, don't buy at mall.

Q: What is your most expensive beauty product?
A: A set of Kanebo Impress skincare.

2. WRATH
Q: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?
A: Eye liner. I don't use make up a lot, but I love eye liner as my eyes are quite small so it's important for me to use eye liner. However, I hate it when it gets smudges after hours. I have tried many kinds of eye liners from Mac, Revlon, Bobby Brown which seems like every women's holy grail but didn't work for me, and right now am using Kanebo. I like the last one the most so far, but still it can't last all day. Anyone ever heard of Dolly wink liquid eyeliner? I think it's Korea or Japan brand. Recently I saw it was featured in a beauty magazine as one of the best of top 20 eyeliners. I ordered online and haven't received it. Finger crossed this one will be my personal fave.

3. GLUTTONY
Q: What is your most delicious beauty product?
A: It will be my sets of Bath & Body Works hand sanitizers. I love them! I have a draw full of them and still can't stop purchasing it whenever I saw those cutie came in new arrivals scent. It smells delicious with cute packaging.

4. SLOTH
Q: What beauty product do you neglect, due to your laziness?
A: Body lotion. Sometimes I am just to lazy or in too much hurry to apply the lotion.

5. PRIDE
Q: What beauty product gives you the most confidence?
A: Perfume. I believe a good smell of scent can boost up the confidence.

6. LUST
Q: What attribute do you find the most attractive in the opposite sex?
A: A good sense of humor. I personally thinks a good sense of humor in a man is crucial. Especially if you're married, you know... living in the same roof, seeing him every single day, I think having a guy who can cracks you up everyday is one of the key to a happy non boring marriage life. ;)

7. ENVY
Q: What item would like most to receive as a gift?
A: Handbag. I love bags. I so wish that I can just point my finger to each of handbags that I like in the new Harper's Bazaar and it will magically show up in front of me. Dreaming, I know.

Lazy selfish 5 days of being away from all daily routines and just do what my heart wants to at that exact moment.

Blacklisted Coffee

About a month ago, Hubby and I went to Puri Mall. It is definitely a mall we barely go to, and the reason we chose to go that night was because they are one of the closest mall that still showing The Bourne Legacy after almost a month airing. Unfortunately for us, by the time we reached there it was left only 10 minutes before the show and we were starving, so we decided to skip the movie and go with Resident Evil instead as the show time was later, in that way we have some time to eat first.

Wandering the shopping mall, I noticed some things had been changed since the last time I went here, which was around 3 - 4 years ago maybe. There was a section of open air terrace restaurants lining in the front of the side lobby. Without knowing what to expect, we try our luck by entering the newly opened Blacklisted Coffee.

[CLOSED] Moovina (Mezzanine)

Moovina is a new dining concept recently open at Plaza Indonesia under the same management of the Italian bistro, Ocha & Bella. The place divided into two levels with the one at the lower floor, Le Jardin, serving a lighter type of food and the one at the upper floor, Mezzanine, serving heavier food selections. Each of the sections have their own entrance but there's a stair inside the restaurant to connect both levels. They really put a big effort on the concept. The place is beautiful! The first one is a chic garden theme with comfy grey couches, white rattan chairs and artificial trees, there's even a beautiful flower shop inside. The whole concept is so pretty. While the latter one is more modernly designed with open kitchen and glass window viewing Thamrin's main road. There's also a bar section with long couches and dimmer lights on the parts of the room.

Lava Brownies by Brownies Gandum

It was a sweet ending struggle for me to finally able to taste this brownies. Why I say it was a struggle, because it took me almost 3 days to have my order confirmed. I'm not sure who replied the text, but it surely took a very long time for them to reply. I texted morning, they replied evening, I replied instantly, they replied the next day. Such a struggle to taste one of the most talked about brownies in twitter. Luckily, the struggle ended in a sweet way. The brownies was delicious!

Rati Rati: Japanese Roll Cake

Rati Rati is a cute little bakery from Japan specialized in soft roll cake. The chef pastry had won an award in Patisserie division in Japan on 1998, and the place has emerged to five branches there. I was informed that the chef pastry flew all the way here to baked the roll cake him self while training the local chef. The place was opened on April 2012 and located next to one of my most frequent visit place at PIK, Nasi Pedes Little Ubud, so it was not a new thing to me but as someone who is not really a sweet tooth, I never found myself wanted to try this, not even after I heard and read numerous good reviews about it.

[CLOSED] Kira Ramen PIK

I personally feel these several months lately, like every week, there's a new place open focusing in Japanese ramen or Taiwanese bubble tea especially in the vast growth cafe districts of Pantai Indah Kapuk. So often that it didn't even come to surprise anymore when I noticed a freshly opened Kira Ramen, just a few steps away from the famous Ikkudo Ichi which from what I seen based on the cars lining, hasn't lost its popularity.

Madame Lily

Thursday 5pm normally is not a time I will choose to go to Plaza Indonesia. The traffic to Thamrin - Sudirman area during that time on a weekday is famous for its capability in turning someone's happy mood to extremely fussy mood. No? Only me? Well...
Anyway, last Thursday was the first time I was willingly to do that and the only reason was because I'm meeting up with my girlfriends, one of my most favorite comfort moment. :)

Where to stay in Hong Kong & Macau

Here are list of places I ever stayed in Hong Kong and Macau. I will also list down some places which I heard also good via friends' recommendation. I will mark which one is personal experience and which one is not.

Address: 281 Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay
Comment: Very nice! My personal favorite hotel. Location is superb, near all shopping and food places, MTR station is only 3 minutes walk, across with WTC shopping mall, just steps away from SOGO. Room is not big but very comfy, clean and smells nice. I truly enjoy my stay here. Very recommended.
Oh yes, do go to the cafe espresso in the lobby, they have the famous Macau Lord Stow's egg tart.

Iluminare Ristorante

Last month before Lebaran holiday, I met up with the girls for an afternoon lunch. One of the girls stayed at SCBD area and she told us that she frequently passed around two Italian diners with busy crowds every night, Torino Osteria and Iluminare Ristorante. Since both were located in the same area and we didn't know which one is nicer, we agreed to just pass both of the places and see which one suits us.

One Tuesday at Summarecon Mall Serpong: Lots of food, lots of fun.

I always enjoy going to a place I never, or in this case, barely go. When my bestie called me up for a day out to Summarecon Mall Serpong, I quickly said yes. A place I barely go with many new exciting diners to try surely can be something to enlighten my Tuesday, not to mention having it with a good company as she is, someone who always okay that her diet plan getting ruined by me, her "always curious" best friend. *grin*
The moment I ended my conversation, I scrolled down the note pad on my Blackberry, and there it was "Places to eat in SMS", Sunny Side Up, Mama's German, Warung Talaga, Quench, The Barrel, Bakerz Inn Artisan. I texted my bestie, we should at least eat at 3 places! She replied... Ok! with a wink. Aw... my food hunting partner. :)

So, proudly (or shamelessly?) to say we did manage to go to 3 places, and here they are:

Tai Lei Loi Kei: Macau's most famous pork chop bun

One of the must eat in Macao beside the famous egg tart is definitely their pork chop bun. Basically it is a toasted bun with grilled pork chop. No lettuce, no cheese, no mustard, no tomatoes, just as simple as that yet so surprisingly well known that people quoted, you haven't go to Macao if you haven't taste their pork chop bun.

I am never someone whose into pork, so during my several trips to Macao, I have never interested in trying one. Last month Lebaran holiday was the first time I go to Macao with my hubby, and he is a true pork hardcore. So it was in my agenda to bring him to the Tai Lei Loi Kei, a place very famous for their homemade pork chop bun.

Things To Do in Macau

Macau is definitely a must visit when you go to Hong Kong. Beside the fact it only took 60 - 75 minutes by ferry ride from Hong Kong, the city itself is so nice to spend a day or two. I know that Macau is famous for their casino, but it's not all about that only. If you are not into casino, like me, there are still plenty of things can be done in Macau. Personally, these are my suggestions on things to do in Macau:

Things to Know about Hong Kong

Ok, I'm no HongKong-ners so the post might not cover all the things need to know about Hong Kong, but I do my best to summarize things that I know from all my trips there. Here it goes:

  • Basically Hong Kong is a country with three big area, HK Island, Kowloon and New Territories. Most of the attractions in HK settled in the part of HK Island. The most famous area in HK Island is Causeway Bay. Kowloon's most famous area is Tsim Sha Tsui, where one of the most famous attractions in HK, Avenue of Stars located. While New Territories is more to island, from the most talked about Lantau to Lamma island famous for the fresh seafood.

Things to do in Hong Kong

What I can say about Hong Kong is hands down one of my favorite city in Asia. My first time to HK was during my elementary school and since then the city has took a place in my heart. Yes, the people can be rude, I hate that too but I love the rest. I never once get bored of the city. Even at midnight, you can see that people are still crowding the streets, and most of their diners closed at 2am in the morning. I love the food, the fashion and the fact that it is so convenient to go anywhere with their MTR subway, even to Shenzen.

Grasshopper Thai

A very late post. I even almost forgot that I haven't review this one. About three months ago, I went with hubby to Alam Sutera, an area that we are very very and very seldom go to. Hence, I was very excited and I remember telling my husband that I wanted to eat at least at three different restaurants on the area. Guess how many we went that day? One, this was it. Grasshopper was the first place we went in and we didn't order much to ensure we have enough space for other food, we weren't full but after a scoop of Island Creamery's ice cream and Cha Time's bubble drink, we were bloated up.

[CLOSED] Xi Men Ding

Xi Men Ding is a Taiwanese cuisine concept franchised from Singapore, brought to Jakarta by the same management who owns Pancious. The restaurant took the previous place of Hoka Hoka Bento at Senayan City. During their opening quite months ago, the place was reviewed in most magazines and media online in Jakarta and I have been wanting to come here since. Back then, when I went to Taipei for holiday, Xi Men Ding was one of the place I went several times. It was not a restaurant in Taipei, but more to a place mostly known as the Harajuku of Tai Pei. It is a pedestrian area which eventually emerging into street market fill with fashions to local street foods. The nickname of Taipei's Harajuku was given due to their major crowds for locals and tourists.

B-Side Wakai Cafe

Last week, I went to Plaza Indonesia by my self. A menswear which my hubby likes was having a 50% off and that was my visit's purpose until I spotted a new cafe connected with a Japanese fashion's brand, I remember a fellow blogger, Cindy, reviewed it a while ago on her blog so I decided to stop by for a quick bites.

Starbucks Autumn 2012 Media & Food Enthusiasts Gathering

Yesterday, several bloggers and I were invited to Starbucks' media & food enthusiasts gathering at Kota Kasablanka. As always, Starbucks comes with selections of their seasonal F&B and this time the gathering was held to introduce their Autumn's food & beverage. We were spoiled with kept on coming bread and cakes selections, not to mention their newest soon to launch Autumn blend coffee and Sea salt caramel mocha.

The Twig Cafe

A cute little diners at Pantai Indah Kapuk had caught my attention for a while since its opening in July. The very first reason of my curiosity was because of their appealing food pics on their FB page. One Monday afternoon I went there with my bestie and turns out they closed every Monday. What are the odds? So, several days ago, I finally able to satisfy my curiosity towards the place on a weekday dinner.

Paradise Inn Jakarta

Couple months ago, I received an invitation from Paradise Inn for their soft opening blogger gathering. Unfortunately, I can't go due to other appointment. When I read all the positive comments reviewed by several fellow bloggers, I was very much intrigued to try yet only until last month during Indonesia's independence day that I finally went there for a family dinner.

Bluegrass bar & grill

Ever since we went to Otel Lobby, I had been looking for a good time to try the other most talked about diners at the moment which located on the other side of Otel Lobby. So, on our 72 months anniversary, we went to Bluegrass hoping for a good dinner.

We reached there almost 9pm. They have their own private parking and it was loaded with cars. I was quite surprised with the busy crowd as it was almost 9pm on a Monday night, luckily we got seated directly. The interior was ok, dark ambiance with dimmed lights. They have a very long bar positioned from one side to the other side of the room. Looking through the menu, their selections was quite vary from western, Indonesian, Italian to Asian. Prices were quite affordable aside from the grills.

Sengoku Noodle

If most of the ramen in town were franchised mostly from Japan, Sengoku Noodle set their foot at the busy dining district of Pantai Indah Kapuk as the authentic Japanese ramen franchised from Seattle, USA. They opened few days earlier than Ikkudo Ichi, one of the busiest ramen shop in North Jakarta, located at the same streets, even Sengoku had a much more better location yet their crowd was nothing compare to Ikkudo. I actually found out about this place first before I got to know Ikkudo, but something about Ikkudo attracts me more, I'm not sure whether it was the line of congratulations flowers, the better marketing selling point or the fact they took more effort on the design concept. Whatever it is, it took me in a non eagerly way to finally tried Sengoku.

[CLOSED] Little Taiwan

Many things can be done to ease the stress. One of my way is by having my own "me time". I love having a me time. Go anywhere I want, sleep all day, eat anywhere I want, anything I want to do just by my self. One of "me time" moment I enjoy is to go by my self to mall and just wandering around without a purpose. Some of my friends think it was weird to go eat or walk around alone, but I personally find it relaxing.

Ochado bubble tea

The first bubble tea in Jakarta which originated from Japan and not from the bubble tea country, Taiwan. The word of Ocha means tea, and Chado means culture in Japanese. Stepping inside their shop at PIK, loud music were heard. Hmm... loud music at bubble tea shop, that's new. Interior came in dark wooden furniture giving it sort of mystic modern ambiance.

Moya Tapas & Wine Bar

One night, hubby and I were craving for some Spanish. Since there was not many options for Spanish food in Jakarta, we were thinking to go to the usual Tapas Movida until I did some searching and found out Moya Tapas which located in a more strategic location. Without further thinking, we called for reservation and headed there for a 9pm dinner.

Magnum M Cafe

Back then, when Magnum Cafe was opened only for temporary period during their launching campaign, I had one visit only. Despite I used to work in the building connected to Grand Indonesia, still the queuing turn me off. However, the only 1 time visit was memorable for me. I love their prawn aglio olio and the ice cream waffle creation. So, when Magnum is back with a new concept & location under Ismaya group, I eagerly went for another try out.

Go! Curry

I never was a fan of Japanese curry and after my experience with Mr.Curry, I was getting more certain that I don't like Japanese curry. That's why I never bother to try Go!Curry since it's opening which was quite some time ago. Until several weeks ago, hubby and I went to Pacific Place for Dark Knight Rises movie date, and I was very much craving for Naan bread and Go!Curry is the closest one to go.

Turns out, they have several kinds of curry to choose, from Japanese to the one closest to Indian type of curry, my favorite kind. It was quite unique that we can choose what and how we want our curry in four simple steps:

  • Step 1: Choose your curry. Brown curry, green curry, red curry, yellow curry, rogan josh curry.
  • Step 2: Choose your spiciness. Mild, medium, hot, very hot, insanely hot.
  • Step 3: Choose your rice. Long grain rice, cilantro butter rice, aromatic yellow rice.
  • Step 4: Choose your topping. Tandoor chicken tikka, zesty cheese chicken, lamb cubes with herbs, breaded fish, mixed vegetables, chicken katsu, Australian oxtail, breaded prawns, NZ mussels.

Depot 3.6.9

I once went to Depot 3.6.9 with my mom for their dumplings and find it quite delicious, so some time ago when they were having voucher promo at Disdus, I bought the voucher without any hesitation. My bad was that I used my voucher on the last day of the expiry date which I shouldn't have remembering what kind of service I got from my previous "close to expiry date voucher's" experience.

Incognito

Incognito is an Italian bistro which located at the ground level of Emporium Pluit, shared a connected spot with Han Gang and White Hunter. I have passed this place several times but never really interested in trying them until one day, I was meeting one of my good friend who I know is a fan of creamy pasta, so we decided to have an early dinner there.

Eastern Promise

One of my distributors in the company I used to worked for told me her favorite Indian restaurant is Eastern Promise which located at Kemang. She has told me quite some time about this, but Kemang is not a place I often go to due to it was quite far from where I live. So one day, my distributors and I meet up to have a lunch here. I normally go to Kinara or Ganesha whenever I have craving for Indian food so I was very excited to try a new place, especially the one to be claimed served the best Indian food.

Otel Lobby

Otel Lobby is having a tweet campaign until Aug 15th (to participate, go to their twitter @otellobby) and last week I was lucky enough to win a free beef wellington from their "tweet to win beef wellington" campaign. Yay! The reason I was so excited was because Otel Lobby is one of the place I had been wanting to go since its opening, yet never did due to the location is famous for heavy traffic. So, a 145k worth beef wellington was good enough to drag my lazy moody ass down there.

Kopitiam Oey

Couple months ago, hubby and I went to Sari Delicatessen to take away my favorite black forest. On our way back, we drove through Sabang looking for something to eat and decided at Kopitiam Oey. It was our first time experiencing Pak Bondan's kopitiam. The place was located in a small ruko with old school ambiance. Despite the late hours, the place was packed with customers.

Cha Cha Bubble Tea

Spotted another new bubble tea originated from the bubble tea country, Taiwan. Located at the 4th floor of Pluit Village next to Shilin. I love what they did with the menu board, it was sketchy and colorful to look at. They have selections of fresh tea, milk tea, fresh milk and ice blended with various unique flavor that I haven't found in other bubble tea's brand such as Irish cream, butterscotch, creme brulee, tiramisu and marshmallow. I was going to try one of the unique one's when I saw they also have one of my favorite tea flavor which is rose, so for my first attempt I tried Rose black tea with pop passion fruit boba (21k) and my friend chose Oolong milk tea with egg pudding (21k).

Provence Bakery

The first time I know about Provence bakery was during my visit to Spore. Originated from Kyoto, they were quite known for their original wassant. Some have said it was very good. I never tried it though until about two weeks ago, I passed them on my way to Ikkudo.

They just opened so the variety was not much. I didn't see any cakes, some to mention were their famous cream wassant, chocolate wassant, white loaf bread, and several choices of bread selections. I bought 4pcs of Cream wassant (19.5k), Chicken curry pizza (14k), Sausage and cheese (8k) and their white bread, pain de mie (10k).

Ikkudo Ichi

Like it's not too many yet, another new ramen place open couple weeks ago in Jakarta, spotted in the expanding cafe districts at Pantai Indah Kapuk. This one is from Fukuoka, Japan. I passed by the place on a Sunday with my mom and cars were lining up on the parking spot, so were the congratulations flowers. As expected, bunch of people were queuing. Not in the mood of waiting, I skipped it and went back couple days after.

Lately...

Inspired by Diana Rikasari's post, I end July by doing a post with same theme as her. ;)

So, lately...
  • I've been addicted to traveling.
  • Always have craving for naan bread.
  • Getting bored of bubble tea.
  • Desperate to lose some weight but can't stop eating.
  • Having a crush with Mr. Bruce Wayne.
  • Learning that people do change.
  • Saving up to buy a new handbag.
  • Like to spend more time at home.
  • Been feeling more blessed married to him.
  • Miss to earn my own money.
  • Having the worst mood swing.
  • Enjoying watching Kimchi Chronicles.
  • Had been watching rerun of Meteor Garden for the fourth time.
  • Trying to accept that life has ups and downs.

So, what's up with you lately?

328 Katong Laksa @East Coast Rd Singapore

After two days full of western & Japanese type of fusion, we ended our last day in Spore with something more original. The famous 328 Katong Laksa is one of the most talked about when you wanted to eat a nice bowl of Laksa in the hometown. Located in the east cost road, simply took a cab and say Katong Laksa at East Coast, as you will not find any MRT near there.

Artease & Share Tea Bubble Tea

Artease bubble tea

Tried: Apple rose tea (detoxifying effect) with aloe vera ($5), Oolong milk tea with custard puddings ($4), Plum green tea with mini pearls ($3).

Fact: Come with quite many selections from milk tea, fruit teas to coffee. Their branch at Orchard Cineleisure is in collaboration with a Japanese restaurant so we can have options of Japanese food to be eaten there. The pearl topping is free while the others like pudding, aloe vera, grass jelly cost around 0.5 cent to $1.

Menya Musashi Ramen @Raffles City Singapore

After wandering around and took some rest back to hotel, we decided to have our lunch at Menya Musashi (means Musashi ramen shop). They are one of the most popular rated ramen in Japan and several months ago, they opened their first branch at Raffles City. Their Shinjuku branch was always packed with customers and according to words I heard, during the opening week in Spore, long queue was always spotted, so I was very excited to try. The word ‘Musashi’ actually refers to the legendary samurai Musashi, which also explains its samurai themed logo in the decor.
