PASTIFICIO K KEMANG JAKARTA

Hello everyone! :) How's April treating you so far? Mine was not so great. I got so many things going on that a clear mind is just something I can't afford lately. These couple weeks had been very tiring. Physically not so much, it's more into mentally tired. So fed up that even when I sleep, I'm still tired.

If you follow me on instagram, I haven't been posting a lot. I'm okay now and finally have my mood back, but these couple weeks I almost didn't have any social activities. Every minute that I have, I chose to stay home.

Just today I finally have the mood to go out and I chose to have my moment of solitude at Kemang. PIK used to be my to go place for me time, but the neighborhood just get too crowded nowadays that I no longer feel them as one.

Pastificio-K is a new eatery under the well known KOI Kemang, a collaboration between an Italiano who is a specialist of pasta making with the owner of KOI restaurants. Together, they focus on bringing authentic fresh homemade pasta, not only for dine in, but they also sell the raw pasta and sauce for you to purchase and cook yourself at home, all homemade and affordable. To show how serious they are on bringing the best homemade pasta, their pasta machine is imported all the way from Italy.

They have plenty of pasta, from the typical spaghetti, tagliatelle until those not so commonly found, bucatini, tagliolini, gnocchi, ravioli and many more. For dine in, first you choose your kind of pasta, then the sauce and toppings. Before I go on with the food, I'll talk a bit about the interior.

Pastificio K took the former spot of Sala Kitchen. Sala used to be one of my favorite eatery at Kemang before it closed for good. Pastificio K designs the place simple and homey with touches of monochrome. I feel its simplicity and humbleness brings out an intimate homey feeling.

I rarely find whole wheat pasta here so when I saw they have one, I chose their Whole Wheat Tagliatelle cooked aglio olio with tuna and I was surprised when I saw the bill, it was only 50k and the portion is more than enough.
Too bad the pasta was a bit undercooked but I can taste the freshness and the overall taste was decent.

I'm not sure if they will add more variety of dishes on the menu as aside from pasta and some desserts, I didn't see any appetizers or side dishes. The Tiramisu (45k) came inside a plastic container which was a turn off. I always love having my eyes pleased with nice plating, and this was not. I know Tiramisu isn't exactly a pretty looking dessert, but still some effort would be nice. Taste wise wasn't bad, but it's not something I'll be ordering for second time. It was moist but lack of the coffee and rum flavor.

I could see my self coming back to purchase their fresh homemade pasta and sauce, but I still think they need to add some variety into the menu. Off to bed now. Thank you for staying, thank you for reading! =)
